Parshall's story
Please read my complete description!
"He's still alive?" "I would have thought he'd be dead by now" This dog was nothing. He meant nothing. No value to his life. It is reported that he was shot in the back leg, tossed out, and left to die. It didn't really matter right? He didn't matter and he didn't stand a chance. That is until in an instant, his whole worth changed. In an instant, a person saw him as valuable, savable, worthy. That person came in the form of a probation officer. She could have left him, like everyone else did. But she didn't She asked the question and the "owners", surprised he was still alive, willingly let him go. We're so grateful she contacted us and so grateful to have him in our lives right now. Parshall went straight to the vet today and spent the day with her. Unfortunately, it looks like he will need some time to recover. He only weighs 12 pounds and is very thin. He is putting weight on the leg so he is on antibiotics and pain medication while it heals. Unfortunately, once he is up for surgery and neuter, his tail will also be removed. It has an injury that is from being pulled and has no feeling any longer. The reason it must be amputated is that he cannot lift it to go to the bathroom and it can cause a mess on his back end. It also is painful near its base so for his comfort, removal is best. This little guy is a mixed small breed at about 1.5 years old. He is incredibly sweet even in the pain he is enduring. He did great with the cats he saw and other dogs. He is just a sweet and cuddly little guy. We can't wait to see how his personality blossoms as he recovers. Feel free to follow his progress. This little guy deserves nothing but amazing from here on out.
*Yes, we know he is not a golden retriever, but made you look! We just joke that he looks like a little pocket golden. I mean, those eyes though!!
Truthfully, we have NO idea what he is breed wise. He's just a perfect little pocket buddy.
He will be available for adoption once fully healed. Feel free to follow his progress on the rescue's facebook page. The standard adoption fee is $175. He will be fully vetted to include neuter, vaccinations, dewormings, microchip, and any other known medical needs cared for. Breeds cannot be guaranteed. A fenced yard is required if a yard is present. Housetraining is not guaranteed. Please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org if interested in meeting and potentially adopting.
