Goose Pomsky Young Male in Sawyer, North Dakota

My story
Intake Date: 31 May 2021------Adopted 18 Sep 2021 -----Returned to Rescue 19 Jan 2023 ----- Age: 3 years ----- Breed: Husky Spitz Mix ----- Size: 40 lbs ----- Status: owner surrender ----- Compatible with: dogs, older children (our youngest is 8)----- Suitable for: home with fenced yard. No Exceptions. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Anxiety. But has progressed great here ----- Additional Notes: Goose came to rescue with a lengthy list from the different owners whom have had him to include:

- Separation anxiety

- Excessive chewing

- Food and/or toy aggressive

- Escape artist

- Jumps/climbs fences

- Digs holes

- May not like male dogs

Whew! What we know so far. His family asked to surrender but we had a family emergency pop up. He was then rehomed a few times in a month period but it was unsuccessful each time. When we took him in, he came from a home with an older child (10+) and they had no behavior issues with him. What we noticed: Goose was under-socialized and lacked confidence. He seeks affection but is shy with new people. Once he knows you, he is just a silly boy. He kennels on command. He thrives with a routine and stability. We have a 6 foot fence and he has obeyed it with zero issues. He has done great in group play with multiple dogs and no issues with gender. He will defend himself if he feels threatened or pushed by another dog but he plays great.

Update:

Goose has progressed beautifully. He plays great with all of the dogs here and obeys commands. The routine and structure has really helped him. He is meeting new people and dogs wonderfully. Goose was returned to rescue after a lengthy adoption due to...well, not sure. His adopter said she heard Goose yelp and then her very young child (toddler age) who was alone in the room with him show a mark on his arm. Goose deserves a permanent placement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175.
